It is a fact that we have a considerable amount of home grown talent here at Goodwood Baseball Club, both, in our current senior squad, and in our junior ranks on their way to becoming tomorrows Division 1.
With the changing face of National Baseball, combined with the wish and desire for local success, it has also become a fact that if we wish to remain competitive at the top level, we need to recruit some outside depth.
The current trend is to seek players from overseas. While this is effective, short term, inevitably they go home. Our approach this year is to look local first. There is a lot of young talent is country competitions around the state.
Although we can save money on airfares and headaches with visas and playing restrictions, the basic requirements of somewhere to live and a source of income are still present.
This is where once again, we request the help of our Members to assist in finding suitable accommodation and employment.
